Clinic leader Petra Kanz is orginally from Salzburg, Austria and has been a windsurfing instructor for eleven years and has received most of her advanced training from Andy Brandt. Petra is US-Sailing certified and BIG, (Board Instructors' Group of America) certified. She has been an instructor for Cort Larned Windsurfing Clinics, various women's clinics, Kitty Hawk Watersports, Banana River Resort, and Calema Boardsailing. She is a part-time ABK instructor but has been running her own clinics for ten years now, concentrating on the East Coast and especially the the Mid-Atlantic.

Petra loves to compete and is involved in everything from course racing to freestyle. She has a vested interest in getting more women into the sport and believes that small groups, a non-threatening atmosphere and incremental learning techniques are key to a successful learning experience.
