Boston Chapter- Family Outing Committee

If you have kids and an interest in exploring the outdoors- welcome!
The Family Outings Committee connects AMC families by offering outdoor adventures suitable for adults and children of all ages. By participating in our outings, families can learn about and enjoy regional natural resources, as well as meet other families who have the same interests. We try to match up ages and genders of children for the longer trips. Single parent families often find our programs very supportive.

Our annual activities have included later summer camping (this is our 9th year) at Nickerson State Park; fall apple picking; short canoe trips; first climb mountains in Southern NH; and winter weekends in NH and Maine.

Many of our members also host local hikes and walks throughout the year. Our family groups have explored conservation areas and parks all over New England, and we welcome new leaders who want to share their favorite walks the in the woods. Knowledge of nearby ice cream shops and bakeries is always appreciated, but not necessary.

The Family Outings Committee of AMC is led by a group of dedicated individuals who keep us connected through the planning of trips and posting of information through our email list.Join us on our of our upcoming adventures, or host your own. There are dozens of families ready to share the outdoors with you!
