AltWheels Celebrates It's Sixth
Year This September

AltWheels - 26-27 September 2008

For the last several years, the AMC Conservation Committee has played a key role helping to co-organize the AltWheels Alternative Transportation Festival. Hosted as an extension of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum's "Lawn Show" program, AltWheels combines a lawn show of personal and commercial alternative vehicles, with exhibitors promoting walkable, bicyclable streets, green space, public transportation, and other key elements of "sustainable mobility."

Electric Car

In addition to normal outdoor activities, there have been panels of experts on many transportation topics, plus the Museum own antique alternative vehicles, such as early 1900s Stanley Steamers and even electric cars!

Beginning in 2006, AltWheels moved to Boston City Hall Plaza to reach a broader, and more numerous community. We also expanded AltWheels's scope to include ALL energy, not just transportation, as well as broader sustainable lifestyle topics.
